Jakarta, May 8, 2025 – PT ORIX Indonesia Finance (hereinafter referred to as ORIX Indonesia) celebrated a significant milestone in its journey by hosting a grand 50th Anniversary celebration on May 8, 2025, at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta. With the theme “Celebrating Our Journey, Inspiring Our Future” the event served as a special occasion bringing together strategic partners, stakeholders, and distinguished guests from various sectors.
A number of important figures attended the celebration, including His Excellency Yasushi Masaki as Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, His Excellency Heri Akhmadi as Indonesian Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Maman Firmansyah as Director of Supervision of Financing Institutions and Venture Capital Companies at OJK, Mr. Suwandi Wiratno as the Chairman of the Indonesian Financing Companies Association (APPI), Mrs. Mubarakah as Chairperson of the Bank Indonesia Employee Welfare Foundation (YKKBI), Mr. Ferry Tampubolon as Executive Director of Bank Indonesia / Supervisory Board of YKKBI, ORIX Corporation represented by Mr. Kenro Seishima, as well as the management board of ORIX Indonesia. Their presence serves as a strong symbol of ORIX Indonesia's commitment and contribution to supporting national economic growth, particularly in the financing sector.
The celebration was officially opened by Mr. Takehisa Kaneda, President Director of ORIX Indonesia. In his speech, he expressed his deep gratitude to all partners, regulators, and employees who have been part of ORIX's journey over the past five decades.
The event continued with a warm welcome from His Excellency Yasushi Masaki, Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, who emphasized the importance of economic and cultural relations between Japan and Indonesia.
Then, Mr. Maman Firmansyah, Director of Supervision of Financing Institutions and Venture Capital Companies at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), also expressed his appreciation for ORIX Indonesia's contribution in supporting the sustainable and responsible growth of the national financing industry.
One of the most symbolic moments of this celebration is the Kagami Biraki procession, a Japanese tradition that means “opening the mirror” and is usually performed by breaking the lid of a sake barrel as a symbol of the opening of a new chapter full of hope and good fortune. This procession is performed together by the guests of honor as a symbol of collaboration and new spirit.
The festive atmosphere was further enlivened by a performance of Nusantara dance, which combines the cultural beauty of regional dances from Indonesia and Japan. This dance symbolizes the harmony between local culture and the spirit of international collaboration that has been a hallmark of ORIX since it first arrived in Indonesia.
The highlight of the event was closed with a special performance by Indonesian diva guest stars Krisdayanti, who performed several of her hit songs with energy and elegance. Her presence added a strong emotional touch and paid tribute to ORIX's long journey in Indonesia.
The 50th anniversary celebration of ORIX Indonesia is not only a moment to reflect on the company's long journey, but also a new starting point for its commitment to continue growing and providing added value to society and the financing industry in Indonesia.
