Financial Literacy Activity with Trisakti School of Management (TSM)

The high level of financial literacy is a long-term with the purpose that everyone is able to manage their finances properly. In order to improve the financial knowledge of the Indonesian people, PT ORIX Indonesia Finance (ORIF) as one of the finance companies in Indonesia incorporated in the Financial Services Institution under the supervision of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) participates in regularly organizing Financial Literacy activities.

On June 20, 2025, ORIF in collaboration with Trisakti School of Management (TSM) held a seminar with the main theme " A Student’s Guide to Smart Investing, Paylater Apps, and Trusted Finfluencers " with 172 students participating.

This financial literacy activity was opened by representatives from Trisakti School of Management, namely Mrs. Paulina Sutrisno and Mrs. Fanny Anggraeni as Lecturer and Secretary of Accounting study programme who gave directions and hopes that this activity could run successfully and be useful for all students participating in the seminar.

Then, Mr. Causa Iman Karana as the Vice President Director of ORIF as well as the first speaker from ORIF provided an overview of finance companies. In his presentation, Mr. Causa explained the definition of a finance company, the types of financing activities, the benefits of financing, and the differences between banking companies and finance companies.

Heading into the main session of the seminar, Mr. Patrick Kevin Aritonang as the Division Head of ORIF's Funding Division as well as the main speaker of the seminar introduced students to the basics of investment and the importance of starting early. Students will learn about the types of investments, as well as the risks and simple strategies in investing. The seminar also discusses how students can invest and use Paylater app smartly to avoid getting into debt. In addition, the seminar also highlighted that students should not immediately trust the advice of finfluencers (financial influencer) on investment without considering it properly. With an understanding of investment, students can build healthy financial habits and foster strong financial literacy early on.

In today's digital era, various platforms and applications have made it easier to access the world of investment. However, phenomena such as Paylater app and the influence of finfluencers (financial influencer) on social media have started to have an impact on students. Unfortunately, there are still many students who do not understand basic investment strategies, tend to use financial services without careful consideration and are easily influenced by information that is not necessarily valid. Therefore, this seminar aims to provide a basic understanding of the right investment strategy, and equip students with the knowledge to recognize and avoid unreliable investment applications.
